About Us

With over 20 years of experience, Carl brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to his counseling practice. As both a devoted husband and father, as well as a retired Air Force First Sergeant, Carl understands the intricacies of relationships and family dynamics. His background allows him to connect with clients on a personal level, whether they are individuals, couples, or families struggling with conflict, communication issues, parenting challenges, or other areas of concern.

Carl's faith also informs his perspective, enabling him to provide Christian counseling and Biblical guidance tailored to each client's needs. However, his approach remains open and supportive regardless of background. Through his decades of assisting others through difficulties, he has learned to lead with empathy and care. Carl aims to equip clients with the tools they need to improve their connections, gain confidence, and enhance their quality of life overall. His blend of real-world experience and pastoral guidance makes him uniquely qualified to counsel clients through life's challenges.

Currently, Carl leads his own diagnostic & treatment mental health practice where he is servicing over 400 patients.

Carl Byrd

At 16, Michelle journeyed from her home country of Trinidad and Tobago to the United States. After graduating high school and placing Runner-Up to compete for Miss Delaware in the 1997 Miss America pageant, Michelle joined the Air Force, where she met Carl. After dedicating four years of active-duty service to the United States, Michelle separated from the Air Force to start their family.

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from the University of Maryland University College and went on to work as a Case Manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida where she was the liaison for the ‘School to Work’ partnership with local high schools. Additionally, Michelle held the position of Care Coordinator for The Secret Place. Michelle continues to mentor/develop several young women in the local community and within various church organizations.

Michelle transforms her personal story into a powerful tool for empowerment, amplifying the voices of those affected by Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation. Advocating for survivors to rediscover their strength and reclaim their voices towards a brighter future. Providing opportunities to reclaim their power, assert their rights, shape their own narratives, and demand justice.

A proud mother of 3 children who has provided unwavering support to her husband’s 21-year career in the USAF and his extensive pastorate experience at churches throughout the world, Michelle is marked as an inspiring figure in her local community and beyond. Michelle loves traveling and will take every opportunity to participate in sports and leisure activities with her family.
